A Message from The Founder
Hi my name is Johnny Glover and I am the creator and operator of Steak King Market and Argyle Butchers, some of you may also know me from other food businesses that I founded in the past such as; Pacific Gourmet, The Butchers Club and Pacific Blue. I am reaching out to you now to update you on the progress and happenings within our business, please bear with me.
We will be retiring the Argyle Butchers (www.argylebutchers.com) site on November 1 and you will automatically be redirected to our new and improved site Steak King Market (www.steak-king.com) from then on.
So who is Steak King Market and why the name change?
Steak King is simply a new name, we are exactly the same people, same facility, same product partners and same mindset for quality products and services. As our business has evolved and expanded we are now much more than an online butchers, as such we thought it’s best to change our name to reflect what we now do.
So what are the changes in the business?
We are still the same online shop but our product range has increased and we now carry a much larger range of seafoods, ready meals, charcuterie, cooking utensils, fresh eggs etc… But the major change is our investment into physical local shops and restaurants. By mid November we will have 5 brick and mortar stores situated within communities such as Tung Chung, Mui Wo, Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung and Wong Chuk Hang. We are planning other stores in high density residential locations too and plan to have 10 shops within the next 12 months with possibly one in Shenzhen.
So what’s in it for you, our loyal customers?
We sincerely hope that you will continue to support us as we grow. Our new site is much easier to use and has many more features with more categories for easier navigation, plus a 100% secure payment gateway. Please give it a go and you will soon get used to it.
We really appreciate our customers that buy in bulk from our online store, doing so means we get to use fewer resources on packaging , delivery and admin etc… As such for those of you that can put together a bigger shop we will be offering free shipping (except Discovery Bay) on all orders above HK$1500.
We will also soon be launching our loyalty program which will work on a points system, as you shop you will earn points which you can spend on gifts such as our own range of cookware, cooking classes, restaurant meals and on other exclusive events!
We have invested in creating a database of video recipes where you can now literally buy a product, scan a QR code and watch a short video on exactly how to cook it.
Also as we grow we are able to purchase from our supply partner in larger quantities meaning our prices should come down too!
