2023 will be a pivotal year for Steak King as we plan to double the existing business levels, strengthen the brand recognition locally and start to look at dipping our toe into the Mainland China Market. To achieve these goals we have numerous significant projects that should set us on our way to success.
Steak King Mothership
We broke ground on our new headquarters in January 23, the premises will house a temperature controlled production facility, office, cold store and fulfillment center. Positioned in Wong Chuk Hang the new operation will have a total of 15,000 sf of floor space of which 4,000 sf will be chilled and frozen storage. The warehouse has a central air-conditioning system which allows us to keep our dry goods and wine in tip top condition during the humid Hong Kong summers, we also have an office for 30 pax.
Opening Feb 2023 - our first bricks and mortar restaurant will open in the heart of Soho, directly off of the escalator on Staunton Street. Macelle roughly translates to ‘Butcher’ in Italian. We have combined a butchers shop and a restaurant together to create a Macelle in the heart of Soho. Visit the Butchers counter and select a prime piece of imported; beef, fish, chicken, lamb or pork and the grill master will cook it to perfection on Big Bertha, our wood-fired Josper grill. Fresh Focaccia bread is served complimentary from the wood fired oven to all guests, good value Italian wine is served by the carafe, finish your meal with a scoop of our house made frozen custard, coffee or grappa.
Our Lobster Boss Concept has gone from strength to strength, it seems people in HK love a good lobster roll! In May 2023 Larry The Lobster and friends will be opening up a full time restaurant in the basement of K11 Musea and a long term pop up at Sogo Food Hall in the heart of Causeway Bay.
Steak King Food Service
With our new warehouse and cold storage facility we now have the opportunity to push into Food Service and supply our premium produce to Hong Kong's finest Hotels, Clubs and Restaurants. To service these accounts we have recruited Aurelian Gay who has 15 years experience in HK as a Sales Director with the likes of Classic Fine Foods and Repertoire Culinaire. With Aurelian's connections to France we will soon start importing premium cheeses and charcuterie directly from Paris.
